Kolkata, India - This project has reached more than 500 students and teachers through ESL classes, and is still growing.
Vellore, India - Since the start of this project in July 2010, we have successfully taught 80 students and 14 teachers in ESL classes. In the future, we are planning to give personality development and basic computer classes.
Dindigul, India -In April 2011, a computer center at Sowbhagya Illam was set up in collaboration with the Ann Foundation. Sowbhagya Illam is a home for abandoned and destitute children, providing care for 180 children, ages 6 to 18. After initiating the program with a small number of students, we are now providing online classes in ESL and computer skills for over 60 students.
Yaounde, Cameroon - In partnership with the BULU Blind School, we will begin basic computer classes for students starting in September.
Cairo, Egypt - Working with the St. Andrews Refugee Service, we have started ESL classes for students.
Sundarbans, India Ann Foundation has taken on this project on July 2011, which involves providing classes in spoken English to the children at Samaj Unnayan Kendra, Sundarbans, West Bengal. The project currently makes use of video conference to supplement the education of 50 boys and girls with the help of 4 volunteer teachers.
Uttar Pradesh, India - In continuing to keep its commitment to educate underprivileged children across the globe, the Ann Foundation has undertaken a promising project which involves providing spoken English and personality development classes online to students and teachers at the Kaifi Azmi School for Girls in Mijwan, Uttar Pradesh.
Chennai, India - January 23, 2012 marks the beginning of the Chennai project for the Ann Foundation. The project is located in the northern suburban area of Tiruvottiyur, an area well positioned for developing industry and commerce. Beginning with 30 students, the project will provide classes in spoken English as well as basic and advanced computer classes for the children at Zenith Educational Trust. |
